As in finished!!

I was going to put elastic around the waist (and I might still), but it was so cute on her the way it was that I called it done!  Better pictures to follow!

I need a walking foot for my machine. Knit is not fun.

Today's sewing progress:

Mobile Blogging

I think I may have attempted blogging from my phone once. I am quickly remembering why I don't do it more often. This Blogger app is not very user friendly. Boo...

I'm just popping in to say I'm not dead. I've just been sewing a lot. I've found a few super cute patterns and I'm crafting my life away. I would totally link to the place where I bought said patterns, but I have no idea how to do so within this app. Again, not user friendly. I'll leave you with a glimpse at the fabric at least. Hopefully soon I'll remember that I have a blog and actually post something more!!

Country Grammar

Hey y'all, it's FRIDAY!  Wooo hooo!  Am I right?

Last night (or maybe the night before) I saw a commercial for some new singing competition show.  I can't remember who the other 2 or 3 judges were, but I saw Nelly.  And that got me to thinkin'... man I haven't heard a good Nelly song is

At one point in time I had all his albums.   Country Grammar came out in 2000 and I have to say we listened to it so much our one year old son started telling us that fish don't fry in the kitchen and beans don't burn on grill.

I miss that.  So to send us all off on a wonderfully carefree weekend, let me supply some background music!

Just so ya know... I hate censored videos.  Ugh....

The Google Monster

I'm sure there is an article out there in Internet Land that details how you are supposed to use Google+.  I've not found it.  Though I haven't really been looking for it either.

I have a Google+ account.  I have a "personal" one and one for the blog.  Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to make a post and then go to all the bazillions of social media to post a link to said blog post?  Even more annoying is having to post to two separate Google+ pages.

How many of my fellow bloggers or blog readers have separate accounts?  One for themselves and then one for their blog?  I'm seriously considering giving the blog account the ax.

I mean... does anyone actually find Google+ useful?  Am I even doing it right?

What a sad excuse for a blog post I've got going on here....

Oh the shame...

The Right Place, The Wrong Time

That's how I've been feeling lately except it's more of...  right time, wrong place.

This is the right time for me to actually write a blog post, but my head is in the wrong place.

Lately I feel like there is not enough time in the day.  For almost three weeks before taking our mini vacay, my hubs worked seven days a week.  Since returning, he's worked every day.  It throws me off kilter when we don't get a "real" weekend.  The days blur.

Today starts the first full week of school for my older kiddos.  So here I sit...

There are tons of things to be done, but I don't feel like doing them.  House cleaning stinks.

Guess I'll just leave you with this photo of Rowan from last night eating her first bowl of spaghetti.

You're welcome.

Air Conditioners and Frozen Balls

I have returned!!  Against my better judgement too.

Our weekend trip to the beach was not long enough.  I didn't take nearly enough photos.  I was scared to take the big camera to the beach for fear the sand would eat it.  'Cause there was sand in everything.  What the hell am I saying... there is STILL sand in everything!  So many of my photos were taken with my little Canon instead.

It was hot.  It was humid.  The campground was... meh.  The other campers were... meh.  For the first time in my entire 33 years of life, I saw the strangest thing ever.  Air conditioners in tents.  No, I'm not kidding.

Just before getting on the interstate to head home I hear my daughter laughing hysterically from the back seat.  Then I hear my son giggling too.  I asked what was going on....

Kaia:  Look at that truck!  It's got balls!
Me:  What? Where?
Kaia:  Right there!  (She points out the window next to my head.)
Me:  Oh jeez... I've gotta get a picture of those.
Kaia:  And they're blue!  I guess that means he froze his balls off!  *giggle, giggle, laugh, snort*
Me: ...  ...  uh, yeah.  That's what that means.

On the way down, we ran into some backed up traffic a little south of Birmingham so we decided to exit the interstate, grab some gas and grub.  Only after making the exit did we see that local police were blocking the entrance ramp back onto I-65S.  We spent the next hour and a half driving 40 miles on a two-lane road going between 15-25 miles an hour before FINALLY getting to another on-ramp.

On the way home, we decided we were all getting hungry and it wouldn't hurt to just top off the gas tank so we exited at the next available one.  As soon as we came to the stop light at the end of the exit ramp we realized... WE WERE AT THE SAME EXIT!  We'd paid no attention to the exit number the previous stop and had no idea we were stopping at the same one.

Tomorrow I'll probably share more interesting photos.  Like ones of beaches and cannons!
