365 Days - Day 6

Addictions are bad, bad, bad...no matter what you are addicted to...

Heaven in a can...

That Gypsy Girl calling and reminding me to take some "photos of the day".

True story..

Supper...just about ready...

Sketty

I can't bring myself to pay someone else $12 to cut my daughter's hair...so I did it myself. Although it doesn't look straight in this photo, I swear it is straight across.

Chop chop...

Book: "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey

A Million Little Pieces

I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this at first. I saw it at a book sale the Bowling Green Public Library holds every year at the L & N Depot. It was only 50cents so I picked it up. The controversy surrounding it had a lot to do with my question of whether to buy it or not. I don't always read the books that are part of "Oprah's Book Club", but some are pretty good. I remember seeing bits and pieces of the episode where Mr. Frey explained that the book wasn't actually a "memoir". After reading, I understand why Oprah picked this as one of her books. It's excellent! I find it hard to understand that he didn't go through these things himself. He seems to have first hand knowledge of being an addict and how it feels to recover. Even though I knew it wasn't true, I was rooting for him to get better and succeed. I wish he hadn't portrayed the book as a memoir, but just as a story. It didn't take long for me to read (just over a week) because it kept me interested in wanting to know what would happen next. I definitely recommend reading it in your spare time.

365 Days - Day 5

I want a new car...I can't afford a "new" new car, but I'll take one that is new to me "new". So we stopped on the way to pick up our kids from their grandparents on Sunday to look at this car.

Ha ha...they spelled reduced wrong...ha ha ha

Before leaving and after returning...it was laundry day. I washed 7 loads of clothes today.

Oooo...smells so good

365 Days - Day 2

Morning Mocha Cappucino!

I'm not a big "coffee" fan, but I'll drink it as long as it has enough creamer and sugar to taste like a cappucino. This morning, however, I had a mocha vanilla cappucino for breakfast.

Grainy picture of the morning news

I have this tiny 13" TV in my kitchen so I can watch the morning news while the kids are getting dressed and eating their breakfast. The picture sucks, but I couldn't pass up getting a plug in for Western Kentucky University whose boys basketball team has made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament this year. Tonight they play UCLA(1). WKU is ranked 12th. That's a big difference, but it doesn't keep everyone from routing them on anyway!

Wal-Mart again

Another trip to Wal-Mart, for the third day in a damn row. Today I browsed the paving stones in the Garden Center. Took photos for the hubby so we can choose.

Movie: "Southland Tales"

Movie: Southland Tales

Watchable Factor: Uh...sure, why not?

Starring...Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Sean William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Justin Timberlake, Amy Poehler, Christopher Lambert of "Highlander" fame, that guy from "The Princess Bride" with the poison, Zelda Rubenstein of "Poltergeist"...and others.

southland tales

Ah...ya know, I really don't know where to start with this one. Lots of well known actors. Great visual effects. But if you DO NOT pay attention, you WILL be lost. The "main" character of Boxer seems to have disappeared and has reappeared with an ex-porn star. Although he is not aware of who he really is. Scientists, in an attempt to find new fuel sources, have slowed the revolution of the Earth and caused a rift to form in the desert. That's about all I can tell you without telling you the rest of the story. I would like to watch this again when I know I won't get interrupted so I can pay very close attention to each of the three "chapters" that the movie is broken down into. If you have the time to spend really watching(that means no potty breaks without pausing!), then check it out. It's definitely different.

365 Days - Day 1

Day One continued...

Trip to Wal-Mart
Had to make a trip to Wal-Mart to exchange some shoes for Kaia and pick up supplies for Neil's upcoming play.

9th Street Bar & Grill.com
Decided to have some lunch while in town at the *NEW* 9th Street Bar & Grill. Best cheeseburger EVER! Looks like a wonderful place with a great atmosphere. Hope it lasts a while.
