September 3rd

Well, folks we've had a bit of a "cold snap" here in south central Kentucky. By "cold snap", I mean that the highs have only been in the mid to high 80's. I was actually able to open the windows and air the house out a bit. It's been very nice. I know that later this week it's going to be hot again, but this one week of cool breezes has been nice.

I've been watching movies that I haven't seen all this past week. I watched, "The Illusionist", and it was very good. Not as good as, "The Prestige", but still pretty good. I think I may be biased though because I love Christian Bale. I watched the movie, "Memoirs of a Geisha", which I wasn't expecting to be as good as it was. I thought it was going to be more of a foreign film. The kind were they have dubbed a voice over and the actors aren't actually speaking english, but they were and the story line was better than I expected it to be. Last night we watched, "The Departed". That one will take you for a trip. It's long and sometimes needs to move on a little faster, but for the most part, I'd watch it again. I was left with a few questions unanswered, but maybe if I watch it again...... And this afternoon was, "Hannibal Rising". This one is definatley a must see if you follow the Hannibal movies.... ie.-"Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal", and "Red Dragon". I was actually hoping he would be able to get what he was after. It's very good, not too gory. There were a couple of scenes where I had to look away, but nothing I couldn't stomach if I absolutely had to watch the screen.

I've found that sometimes it's nice to just sit back and relax every now and then, catch a movie in the middle of the afternoon, and enjoy life.
